What is Minimal Sedation?
Nitrous Oxide Inhalaition Sedation, also called “Minimal Sedation”, is accomplished by easily administering Nitrous Oxide or “laughing gas” through a comfortable nose mask. Young children will simply breathe in through their nose, and when the sedative takes effect, they will begin to feel relaxed and euphoric.
Is Sedation During Dental Procedures Safe for your Child?

Hence it is also called conscious sedation which provides euphoric & relaxing effects for a desired time, so your child can engage in day-to-day activities after the dental procedure. This option has a number of advantages as it doesn’t require a needle or a pill, and the effects wear off quickly after treatment.
